Air Travel
With easy access from all major cities, the Reno/Tahoe Int'l Airport
features 24-hour service with many cities having direct flights. Reno is
approximately a 45-minute drive from Truckee and North Lake Tahoe via I-80
and 2.5 hours via Interstate 395 to the Mammoth Lakes area. It is serviced
by Alaska Air, America West, American, Continental, Delta, Northwest,
Southwest, Skywest, TWA, United, and United Shuttle. International visitors
should also consider flying into San Francisco International Airport were
you can easily drive to the Lake Tahoe, Western and Eastern High Sierra with
3.5 and 5.5 hours depending on road conditions.
International visitors may also want to consider flying into Las Vegas or
Los Angeles International Airport but this will require approximately 300
miles of driving on mostly state routes—Highway 95 north, State Route 266
west, and State Route 168 west to US 395 north to access the Eastern Sierra
and Interstate 5 to access the Western Sierra.
